This short dog-walking route is perfect for nature lovers, with beautiful wildlife including the Adonis blue and chalk hill blue butterflies, the yellow herb horseshoe vetch and the distinctive whitethroat.
The circular walk is just under half a mile in length and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Starting in Mill Hill upper car park near Shoreham-by-Sea the walk follows woodland trails with excellent views over the River Adur.

Mill Hill nature reserve in the South Downs National Park covers 11 hectares of chalk grassland, scrub and meadow and has been designated as a Site of Nature Conservation Importance. The highest point of the reserve delivers a panoramic viewpoint over Shore-by-Sea and Lancing, and in summer is a popular spot with butterfly seekers.
It’s a wonderful place to explore with your dog, but please remember to keep them under control so they don’t disturb the wildlife.
