Walk Details
Start this walk at West Kirby Train Station then walk down to the beach at Dee Lane slipway and check the tide times via the notice board or search online for Hilbre Island tide times (it is very important that you do this part of the walk at low tide and leave West Kirby 3 hours after high water and leave Hilbre Island 3 hours before high water).

Walk across the beach to Little Eye (first island) then to Middle Eye (second island) then on to Hilbre Island (the largest of the three islands). Have a wander round Hilbre then walk back the same way to West Kirby beach (keeping an eye on the tide times).

Walk round West Kirby Marine Lake and up past West Kirby Sailing Club then straight down Macdona Drive then along Cubbins Green and the beach to take in the wonderful view of the River Dee and North Wales (and of the walk you have just done to Hilbre Island behind you).

Take the path left at the end of Cubbins Green onto The Wirral Way path then walk straight down to West Kirby to the end of the circular walk back at the train station.

Michael VJ Jones’s Verdict:
A Fantastic Coastal Walk mixing the rugged island terrain around the Hilbre Islands and the Wonderful Views from on top of the three islands and from the Wirral Coast.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
