Walk Details
This is a walk that you’re going to want to spend a whole day on as you travel through the beautiful and tranquil Glen Leven before reaching the eastern edge of the Blackwater Reservoir and the imposing Blackwater Dam.

Starting in Kinlochleven, we head westwards, following the River Leven into Glen Leven. It’s a good path although if it’s wet weather you will need to take care in parts.

As you reach the Blackwater Reservoir you’ll notice the Blackwater Dam. The path that crosses under the dam is rough so please watch your step on this section!

When you’ve had your fill of the views out across the reservoir, we’re heading eastwards, this time on the south side of the river. We join up with the Old Military Road and follow it back to Kinlochleven.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
