The Camping and Caravanning Club have been supporters of the Litter Heroes Campaign since the beginning. They understand better than most the importance of keeping green spaces beautiful as one of the biggest providers of campsites in the UK.
Camping and Caravanning Club Campsites aren’t just beautifully kept, they’re also in great locations in the UK and abroad. Club members also benefit from insider info, exclusive discounts and a lot more.
Since covid struck staycations have become even more popular, there are brand new campers and caravanners up and down the country. There was a huge spike in searches for caravans and campsites during the summer, it seems that people are increasingly interested in having a home on wheels!
With all these new faces appearing it’s our duty as seasoned veterans to let them know the dos and don’t of staying on a campsite.
The first, and probably the most important, respect your neighbours. This includes everything from keeping your area tidy (using your reusable litter bag) to turning down your music by a reasonable time. No one wants a litter-filled camp or a bad nights sleep.
Secondly, make sure you keep all the toilet and shower facilities clean – there’s nothing worse than a grimy shower after a day spent exploring.
Thirdly – make the most of the friendship camping and caravanning can bring. The Camping and Caravanning Club aren’t called the friendly club for nothing, wave at your neighbours (across a 2 meter gap), ask their advice, or even share a socially distanced drink.
If you’re stuck for something to do one day why don’t you head out on a walk with your reusable litter bag and collect all the litter you can find. Camping and Caravanning bring you closer to nature than almost any other Holiday, so it makes sense that you’d want to protect it.
When you’re on your trip make sure you check out The Outdoor Guide to find walks in the area, or even reverse engineer your searching by looking for a Camping and Caravanning Club campsite based on our walks.
Where ever you go on your next adventure, don’t forget to take along your reusable litter bag so you can be a Litter Hero. Share your photos using the hashtag #LitterHeroes, we love to see what you get up to!
