Walk 2- Castle Haven Lough Clubir Blind Harbour Feature

Walk Details

This is a great walk that offers you the sight and sound of the sea as you explore part of the coastline of County Cork.

We start our walk near Reen Pier before heading east, following the rugged coastline with glimpses of Lough Clubir to your left.

Heading south, the landscape changes as you are taken towards Myross Island where you can immerse yourself in the landscape as your explore its shores.

From here our path takes us northwards, still offering us amazing views across the Cork coastline. You’ll pass Squince Beach where you’ll perhaps want to pause for a moment to watch the waves and soak in some more of that vitamin sea.

When you’re ready to move onwards, still heading north, there will be hidden treasures awaiting you along the way until you eventually come back to Lough Clubir once more – where another moment to pause may be calling you.

The circular route brings us back to Reen Pier where we started.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
