Walk Details

This moderate walk offers some breathtaking views as you head towards the second most southerly point of Ireland – Mizen Head.

You’re taken on a winding path that perfectly connects seven different and distinct view points along the trail of the stunning seascape that accompanies us on this walk.

You can’t help but pause at each and soak in the view and the Vitamin Sea with its salty breeze coming in off the Atlantic. With each step this walk spoils you with views that seem even more incredible than the last.

The pinnacle of this walk is the lighthouse at Mizen Head – standing proud in its iconic red and white colour scheme. Stand here and gaze out across where the Atlantic meets the Irish coast, watching the waves pound the rugged shoreline.

It’s worth taking some time to visit the Visitor Centre to step back in time and learn more about the rich maritime history of this corner of Ireland.

Remember to prepare properly before heading out on any type of walk or outdoor activity. Tell people where you are going and what time you are expected back. As Wainwright says "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing".
